Wifi connection

by tino20033 / August 7, 2010 1:38 AM PDT

Hello I would like your help.

I have a Dell latitude laptop and a HP workforce610 both of which has wifi cpability. I was told at Staples that i need a wireless router for them to talk wiht each other. I do think that is quite so according to the information receied when I try to use the wifi capability. It gives a a list of connection to try but it is asking for a code. How do I get that code. OS is win xp pro. Thanks.

Tino

is probably being broadcast from the wireless routers from your neighbors.

You will need a wireless router of your own to set up a home network.

Update for anyone having the same problem:

I decided to call Epson tech support and fortunalely I saved on a router becuse I did not need it for both machines to talk. The laptop is integrated wifi and the printer is wifi and the printer did include a software. Guess wihtout that a router would be need.

Just curious why you called Epson when you have a Dell & a HP?

So if you have a wireless computer and a wireless printer you DON'T need a router to go between them?
