Question

WiFi 2.4 problem playing video

Jul 22, 2016 6:58PM PDT

Our internet recently been upgraded to 5 GHz using WiFi hosted. Desktop, laptop n mobile no problem connecting but my tablet can't connect to 5 GHz, so still using 2.4 band, since its a single band tablet.
I can still browse internet on my tablet, sometimes its fast, sometimes it is slow, or just freeze. The real
problem is playing video, it freeze every 5 min.BTW,my tablet was fine before upgraded to WiFi booster.
I was thinking of buying new tablet with dual band, but read about mini usb wifi router.
Anyone knows if this might help? Any solution?

It must be dual band for the tablet to connect.

2.4 GHz WiFi video freeze
Jul 23, 2016 9:35AM PDT

My tablet is Teclast x98 air iii, android 5. It works fine before WiFi booster. The WiFi booster i think is dual band, I can see blinking lights in both bands. My tablet can connect internet, just video playing is intermittently froze.
All other divides like desktop, laptop, mobile are using new ssid name(5ghz)
Just my tablet can't, cause its WiFi is not 802.11 a/c. So using old ssid 2.4 GHz.speed is 72 mps

I don't see the network setup, model numbers and can never guess what a booster is.

WiFi repeaters are so bad on issues that I never deploy this. And I never offer hope for others in their use. Great if it works but when it doesn't my advice is to deploy a normal network with WAPs.
