SBC Yahoo is one of the more flexible ISPs in that they give DSL customers free dial-up access and let you log onto the internet using two different accounts at the same time. The ideal setup is you using your DSL connection while she logs onto the net through a dial-up connection. (Master or sub accounts.) However, you can also both log onto dial-up connections simultaneously, though I believe one of you must be using the master account. There is no special procedure for doing this...just log onto the net from both locations as usual (one using DSL and the other dial-up, or both dial-up) and it will automatically detect the situation and accomodate both of you. Just note that there is a limit to two people being logged on at the same time.
Hope this helps,
Hi computer world. Quick question, not sure I can explain clearly. We have DSL account at our home. I like it, works fine. Wife wants to buy a new Laptop to use at the family farm business 13 miles away. Dial up is the only service avail. at this location. Can she dial up and use our SBC yahoo account at our home and can we both be on the service at the same time? Can somebody walk me through this situation, modem, etc. Thanks, waiting your advice and suggestions. Dave
