How do I adjust my computer so that I don't have to scroll back and forth the width of the screen to read a website?

Higher resolution

Try setting your monitor to run at a higher resolution. On the desktop, right-click and go to "Properties", then go to the "Settings" tab, and move the slider under the "Screen resolution" title to adjust the screen resolution. I would recommend at least 1024x768 or higher.
