Wide Angle Lens Question

Feb 13, 2006 4:34PM PST

I am using a wide angle lens (.5x) on my PVGS150, but whenever I actually attach the lens, there seems to be a curving around the edges of the image i am shooting. Is there any way to fix this problem?

lenses do particularly when the subject is a short distance from the lense. Wide angles that are corrected for this are fairly expensive.

thats called vignetting or vig for short , i have a ag-dvc30 and i could be wrong but is the filter thread 43mm? if it is then its the same as mine and i get no vig . I run a raynox mx3000 .3 fisheye with my camera and i used 2 step up rings ( 43-55 and 55-5Cool with no problems , look into different step up ring combos and different thread size lenses.

Vignetting is when the corners of an image are darker

or lighter than they should be.

This poster is talking about what is usually called wide angle distortion. It may also be called barrel or pin cushion distortion. It involves a bending of the image near the edges of the lense.
