My Alexa dot and speaker looked close. Given you added more requirements I think we moved to multiple devices such as an everyday phone (landline) or cell phone PLUS an Alexa or "this does not exist today."
I use my Alexa dot to make calls and voice quality is far better than any cell phone I've used to date.
-> Sorry folk but at times there is no single product that will do what you ask. If you do find such a thing is needed this is where and why people start a company and produce the thing that isn't being made.
I’m looking for any advice people can offer re setting up some form of wi fi communication system for my mother who is resident in a care home in the UK.
The aim is to be able to just ‘drop in’ on her during the day and have a chat. Also for her to be able to contact us. It would need to be a simple to use solution. Mum’s speech ability varies greatly. A voice activated system would not be suitable from her end. She could operate basic controls. Bulk of the communication would be voice only. Ability to have some visual communication would be beneficial. Quality of the voice link is important. Thanks
