Question

Wi-Fi probs with MacBook Pro and Airport

Aug 18, 2011 9:19AM PDT

I have a relatively new (mid 2010) MacBook Pro (13 inch) that I am using with a Airport Express purchased in January 2011. Lately my Pro will not stay connected or even connect to the airport. My other laptop connects as well as my Iphone and the signal is good. I can connect on outside wi-fi with no problems. It is only happening at home on my two Apple products. Lastly, this started happening about a month or so so I am thinking it could be a software update that caused it. I have searched the Apple support forum and I have found ALOT of the same complaints (which is disturcbing) but nothing that is helpful. Can anyonehelp? Thanks

But I can't tell if this is the usual issue. I can't find details about the wifi security or distance.

For now I've leave with the advice to change to WPA2 security and change the RF CHANNEL of the router.

Wi-Fi probs with MacBook Pro and Airport

Hello and thanks for the reply. My security is set to WPA2 but I don't know how to change th RF channel on the Airport Express? Also, as I mentioned, this has been working flawlessly for almost a year and now it just started giving me problems. Lastly, the distance away is normally no further than 10-15 feet with no walls in between. But I can connect on my Iphone and my wifes (windows) laptop inside and outside the house. I appreciate your input...
