A ethernet bridge should allow the Vonage adapter to connect directly to your hot spot.

we have a wireless laptop(wi-fi)--nothing external connecting to it to access the internet from a hotspot---we have a cottage "away from it all" where our internet connection is a line-of-sight hotspot to our ISP provider--we don't have to use a router or anything to get online. we bought a VONAGE phone adapter and signed up with VONAGE to use their VOiP phone connection with our laptop. Connecting the adapter to the laptop with the ethernet cable does NOT get the job done despite the fact that VONAGE customer service said it would. Apparently the issue of using VONAGE with a line of sight internet connection has never been addressed-----or at least WE can't find anybody who knows anything about it. We also bought the Lynksys54GS router after someone said that IT should do the trick BUT nowhere in the setup is a hotspot connection configuration addressed so we have not used it for fear of really screwing up our laptop configuration. I apologize for the length of this post but felt that if I put all that we have done out there SOMEBODY might know the answer to our question IF there is an answer. Thanks for your time---Melinda Symmes
