by giving the most distant person a dual antenna USB wifi device. Until that happened, her older sister's newer laptop when used in the living room where the router was, overpowered the other sister's desktop wifi in her bedroom. You need better, stronger reception. Also look into the router's program and see if the broadcast level of the wifi has been adjusted downward or is sending at top level.
Long story short, I get ping spikes when I play video games and I don't know how to get rid of them. My wireless router is called Fritz Box 3272, and the signal I get in my room is mostly 3/5 "lines", sometimes 4/5. It's a pretty long house, and my room is 12-15 meters from the router. I want to mention that this mostly happens when there's another person in the house who uses Wi Fi as well, and I'm guessing that when he's downloading something, or watching something on youtube, my ping spikes enough to be really annoying.
I bought an Wi fi extender but not only that it causes a lot of issues ( it frequently disconnects, etc ), it also doesn't solve the ping spikes problem. Would getting a different router help, like, this one ? https://www.cnet.com/products/asus-ac2400-rt-ac87u-dual-band-wireless-gigabit-router/
Would getting closer to the router help? ( say I move in another part of the room where I'd consistently get 4/5 "lines" of signal)
Any suggestions? I really need some help...
