Question

Wi-Fi Assist on iOS 9.0.1

I saw a warning that you may want to disable Wi-Fi Assist on iOS 9.

I have iOS 9.0.1 and Wi-Fi Assist seems to be gone.

Have you noticed this?

Answer
It's not gone

Moshette,
I have iOS 9.0.1 and I have Wi-Fi Assist. Go to your Settings and then Cellular. Scroll all the way to the bottom of that screen below all your apps and Wi-FI Assist should be there.

Wi-Fi Assist Is Not on My Phone

It may be on your phone, but Wi-Fi assist is not on my phone. I've checked several times and it is not there. I rebooted the phone and checked again, and it is not there.

The full version name of the operating software is iOS 9.0.1 (13A404).

Could it be missing because my phone is old? It is 4s model A1387.

Maybe the function doesn't work with this old phone, so the software doesn't load?

Otherwise, this is strange.

wifi assist and 4s

I too have a 4s and the wifi assist does not show on the cellular screen in settings. I'd like to make sure wifi-assist is not "assisting" my searches and downloading.

I ran into a person that could not scroll down the list.

It doesn't seem to assist with 4s phones

My husband has the same phone as mine. He has always complained about the delay in switching from our home wireless to cellular when he leaves the house. He says with iOS 9.0.1 he still experiences that same delay, which is an indication that Wi-Fi assist does not work with the 4s phone.

If you are concerned, maybe you can occasionally glance down at your phone to see whether it is operating off Wi-Fi or cellular.

Thanks for the report that assist does not show on your 4s. It saved me from wondering if I were missing some more marbles.

Ciao.

(NT) Then it's not an issue from what I read.
