Question

Why wireless won't connect to the internet

Jul 22, 2016 3:57AM PDT

Hi, I support a small company of about 30 users, they connect wirelessly to the internet via a Huawei Wifi Router and they have a server that is connected via ethernet to the router. The server connects fine with no issues but laptop users (Dell Inspiron 355Cool cannot connect though it sees the wifi network and says internet access but when you try to get to internet sites there is no connectivity. I have ran the network reset option via cmd prompt and it did the magic for a few minutes. Can anyone assist please

Maybe it's some recent upgrade on all those machine? I'd restore one of those Dell's to factory conditions, and see if it works then.
Is the company Huawei router the only one that they can't connect to, and do all other routers (yours at home, in a public hotspot) work?

Depending on those results, contact Dell or Huawei support.

That's pushing limits on WiFi

My first move is to get more wired connections to unclog the WiFi. WiFi is a shared air space so that many would push a router to its breaking point.

Your IT lead should be asking for a second or third WAP.
