Question

Why when I upgraded to windows 8.1 won't my games run?

Nov 1, 2013 1:25PM PDT

The games are star wars battlefront 2 and need for speed carbon both officially compatible with windows 8 and 8.1 according to microsoft's compatibility center page.

The games begin to launch then stop. When I have task manager open it shows the games for a few seconds and then they disappear.
Additional Details
*I had windows 8 and i upgraded to 8.1.

Check with your machine's maker for driver updates.
And uninstall, reinstall those apps that fail.

Okay I will do all that. I tried reinstalling the apps but that didn't work now I will try the driver(s). I also heard that upgrading your OS is never as good as getting a clean install. But since my recovery partition has 8.0 I don't know how I would do a clean install without pirating.

Clean install is for those that have the time and money.

I quite doing clean installs about 10 years ago as I found that with very little effort I could get the OS pretty clean.
