Why Velocity micro instead of dell?

ok, so I am in the market for a new desktop and I know what i want in it:

Quad core Q9330 processsor
4GB of mem
decent graphics card
320Gb hard drive
mid level sound card
XP professional to vista ultimate or business downgrade OS
dvd rw drive
cd rw drive
usb, firewire ports

now i have spec'd out a velocity micro computer and a dell, both with identical guts. the velocity micro is $234.00 cheaper than the dell. now i would go with the obvious choice and go velocity micro, but my dad is a bit concerned with them cause its not such a common name.

Is the Velocity micro the right choice, and why vs. the dell.
thanks in advance

Is the support time frames and coverage is the same in both systems, e.g. none? If not, then be aware of the difference in the policies as that could easily explain the difference.

both have the same 1 year warranty and seem to cover the same stuff from what i've been reading. i did notice that the Q9330 processor from dell is around $200.00 more than the identical processor from Velocity which is surprising.
