I was referred by my friend to a Yii development company for my web application requirement but do not have enough idea about the same. Can anyone help? Why Yii framework is chosen most?

a lot of different frameworks out there. Some of them are similar, some of them focus on core objectives (like speed) or easy of use. The only way to really choose a framework is to determine what's important to you and to then find someone who is experienced in a framework in which they can accomplish that.
I'll throw another framework at you: Laravel. Just something to research and consider as an option.
