I was once in an office of one for treatment of my back when it was particularly bad shortly after I injured it saving a fainting patient, and there on the wall was a huge poster saying "How would you like a Pus cocktail?" These people were actually claiming that milk consisted of dead white blood cells. I abandoned that chiropractor as soon as I could stand up straight again.
Milk has been a significant component of the food of many cultures, not least the Masai in Africa who drink it mixed with the blood of the animal. Cheese has been a staple in most European and Middle Eastern cultures, and yoghourt (yeah, I know that's a weird spelling but I kinda like it) is another staple that runs from the Balkans all the way across Turkey and up into the southern "-stans" of the former Soviet Union. You've got to figure if its been a food of choice for centuries it can't be all that dreadful, but they do do horrible things to the cattle that produce it in order to increase yield, and we do get significant doses of anti-biotics from much of the food we eat, which doesn't help their effectiveness when it comes time for us to take them for some infection or other. Also the hormones aren't doing anybody much good. Onset of menarch has been getting earlier and earlier for the past 100 years, although hormones in milk go back only about 50.
Not to push a hot button here, but I found the discussions in Europe and Britain on what should be allowed in food to be very enlightening and would like to see the same sort of thing here, if ADM, and Cargill, and Monsanto, and the various Drug companies and the various beef and poultry industries would allow it.
