Question

Why no 3D while viewing YouTube

Youtube has spent a lot of effort making 3D content available to the streaming market, but apparently I cannot enable 3D while using this app in the Smart hub on my 46" 6400 LED TV. Works on Vudu and Vimeo... is this limted byt he app or the tv or youtube?

Answer
All this belongs to YouTube.

It's their app, and their issue 99.99999% of the time when it fails. Be sure to ask them as Samsung does not write this app.

SDK

So Samsung just releases an SDK and then the apps qualify and are added to the Smart hub? no development for Samsung in that scenario I suppose.

3D You Tube

You stated in your post that Vudu and Vimeo work fine with 3D; therefore the TV is working properly. If the TV was the problem with your YouTube failing to play in 3D, none of your apps would appear in 3D. Pretty simple deduction that it's the app that is the problem. R. Proffitt is correct; Samsung does not write the apps. That would be YouTube developers.
