Resolved Question

Why is the battery led not flashing while in charge?

Jul 20, 2012 8:39PM PDT

Hi,

I just got my new dell E5520 laptop and i am charging it for first time. When i plugged in the charger i saw the battery led light flashing and after a while it flickered a bit and then it disappeared .

I have been told that i have to charge it for first time 8 to 10 hours. So i am still charging it even though the battery light is not flashing.

Is this normal? Could you please help me figure this out? This is my first laptop and i am a bit worried to be honest!

Hi Jimcomccabe,

My name is Deepa and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. First of all, I would like to congratulate you for your first laptop and would like to appreciate your choice. It is one of the best Dell laptops that we have. I would like to tell you that the battery light is not flashing that means battery is in full charged mode with ac adaptor plugged in.It is completely normal. I would also like to share a link with you that would take you to Dell website where in you can get a lot of information including the owner's manual and set up guide that would definitely help you to set up your new system. This link also has a detailed information about battery LEDs and specifications. You can refer to this link:-
