Why is my loggin screen pretty slow?

Sep 24, 2014 10:12PM PDT

About a days ago, my login screen would come up immediately whenever I opened my laptop . But now, it takes about a couple of seconds and I have to sorta tap my enter key or any key to make sure it doesnt go back to its 2nd cover picture.

I've provided a link to what im talking about

The machine has some USB drive plugged in. That gets scanned during that startup.

Thank you for replying Bob

- Thats impossible because the only USB drive plugged into my laptop right now is my logitech wireless usb and thats it.

The laptop has been working properly even when it was plugged in.

Then let's see what others write.

As antivirus suites and Microsoft updates, power up times do move around. I'm unsure why you write this is impossible as I have seen the effect and in your opening post didn't reveal much detail. That is, give so little detail I share the most common to start the discussion.

It can even be Windows taking a bit longer to make the WiFi connection. Here's an article about slow wakeups.

I respect folk's choice to keep their PC details private.
