Why is my gaming laptop lagging so much?

Jul 20, 2019 2:25AM PDT

Recently when trying to play a game such as Fortnite and Cities Skylines i've been getting a lot of lag and i don't know why. All my drivers are updated and i've also tried cleaning my computer.

Here are my specs:
-Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz
-Installed Ram: 16GB
-Render: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

I have similiar specs (a bit better cpu and gpu, but 8 gb ram) and it's lagging sometimes when I open more than 10 tabs in a browser and I have more than one window of chrome opened.

Not much of a mystery here.

The i7 noted is 4 cores, 8 threads so you have 10 tabs which could be busy. With each tab or app it no longer gets its own core or thread.

There is no mystery here.
