Apr 23, 2015 1:06PM PDT

I have a problem... My computer has 12GB of RAM. and in the task manager it's telling me it's using 10.3GB out of that... and that's a lot. everything that's open maybe adds up to be using around 1GB. Suggestions?

Answer
Windows should use all RAM.

In the best case, all RAM should be used, for cache, even for a trivial item.

There are tools to list this but using all the RAM is not a bad thing. RAM beats HDD and even SSD access times.

Look at the task manager

and see whats using the memory. When you find the process google it and find out how to eliminate or control it.

Sounds as if you have some type of malware. Don't know which antivirus you are using but out of all the free stuff only Avira found the trojan and stopped it. I didn't recover my RAM - 22GB were 'stolen' - but the issue has stopped.
