Why is FreewarePPC link blocked?

Jun 15, 2005 12:44PM PDT

I'm wondering why the link to FreewarePPC is blocked in these forums. I've tried to include the link in a few of my posts, but in the displayed version, it shows the formatting and a bunch of aterisks where the url should be. Is this just a glitch, or is there a reason why links to the site have been blocked?

Thanks,
John

(The link appears as this: FreewarePPC)

It's the forum spam filter, anything

with the word "free" in the URL gets blocked. I hastle with it every day in the V&S forum trying to post updates for some of the free AV's.

My suggestion for now is to use the text hyperlinking method

I just tried this with

an antivirus update and although it shows the "text" instead of the URL, if you hold your mouse over it or click on it the spam filter still displays the **** so the website won't load. Back to the drawing board.

I'm not going to try and explain that every time I post an update that has the word free in it so I'm just not supplying URL's for those particular ones. Most of these antivirus programs, you update via the program and don't use a URL anyway so as long as the members know there has been an update, they can update via their program. Lee said they are going to correct this eventually. It's not really a big deal, it's just aggravating. LOL
