use headphones.
The controls for the DVD player software may be an issue too.

I've a laptop(Dell Inspiron 5150) which has CDRW/DVD-ROM
combo drive. The audio is good for MP3/other audio files.
If I play DVD, audio is very low even though volume
settings are set to the maximum. Please let me know
if you've already experienced the problem.
Will the audio improve if the laptop's audio out is
connected to a TV with a Miniplug-To-RCA Stereo Audio
Cable?
Thanks,
-pradeep
