You SHOULD be able to get on the Internet with IE. If for no other reason, you have to use it to get Windows updates from MS, so it behooves you to find the problem with IE and fix it. The first thing I'd do would be to purge the browser cache, since it's the simplest & easiest thing to do. You didn't mention what antivirus and anti-malware you have, but they are important. If you don't have a good anti-malware program, get the free MalwareBytes, get it up to date, and run it regularly.
You can check for corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above doesn't help. Click START, then type CMD in the search box, right-click CMD.EXE and click Run as administrator. Then from the command prompt type sfc /scannow.
If that fixes it, fine. If not, use System Restore to go back to a date prior to the beginning of the problem. To run System Restore, click Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Click the box that says Show more restore points.
My wife has been using Internet Explorer with this new HP computer (i7, 16GB memory, Windows 7) for about a year. Today, she cannot access internet. I checked both LAN connection and wireless connection and found no issues. It found no issues after following the diagnostic to troubleshoot the connection. Finally, I tried Google Chrome and can access internet everytime. Clicking the Internet Explorer, I saw a frame come and go, and there is no error message. IE was still ok last night. There is an issue with IE before when she bought and download the Office 2013. Customer support told her to use Google Chrome to download, Chrome worked. But, she got used to IE and went back to use IE as internet browser. It looks like she has to say bye bye to IE and use Chrome.
Are there any computer exports have any knowledge on why Internet Explorer suddenly fails to work? I appreciate any comments and suggestions.
