Why Facebook is high on the top search list

Dec 14, 2009 8:33AM PST

One possible reason why it is so high on the list...
people are too lazy to type out www.facebook.com, when they can just type Facebook in their search bar.

I do it (not to be lazy), but for security (safety), it prevents me from accidentally typing the wrong URL and getting a website with spyware/adware instead...

Just my thoughts...

Will automatically add the www and com.
I think this is not laziness. It's rather the habbit forming nature of the human brain. If you're always going into one bar to type something to access the web, you'll form a muscle memory for it and also a habbit. Human brain has to automate many things to efficently handle the complicated world. Software should be designed with this in mind.
I like chrome's address bar.

No reason for "www"...

Or at least there shouldn't be in this day and age. It's assumed, isn't it?

IE will add the www and .com if you press Control+Enter.
