Why are the downloads on download.cnet.com done as automatic redirects?
Those are blocked by most modern browsers.
Why then also giving* users advice to turn off the safety features of their browser, when a normal download link would work?
It worked since the first browser and it works with all current browsers.
I see there is not even a workaround text like this (used on toher download sites): If the download does not start automatically in x seconds click _here_ ("here" is the a normal link to the download file)
This way cnet is causing problems for theirselves and for the users.
