Question

why don't embedded links open in new tab?

Oct 16, 2012 1:54AM PDT

I'm having a problem with IE9 opening links that open a new tab. Links that don't open a new tab work fine. I have the newest version of IE9 and run windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Answer
Always try it with NO ADD INS.

And if it fails then, try other browsers.

Do know if I can uninstall IE9 and then download it from Microsoft to start off with a fresh program?

Since you asked, you can't.

Sorry but English being what it is, your question answered itself.

Did you try IE9 without add ins and did you try the reset defaults for IE9?

Also, did you try another browser?

No, can't be done in Windows 7.

Usually, a middle click opens a link in a new tab. That's the same in IE as in Firefox. But you might have done a setting or an add-on that says otherwise.
What happens if you run IE in a new Windows account?
