Why doesn't it want to install?

I got a bunch of programs i download, but they wont install, although they are vista created programs(one of them is internet explorer 8 beta(vista version)). When i start installing them, the box saying "installation of program "(name of program)" has stopped working",
and there is no way to solve it. Any help please?

capi, why in the world are you trying to install new programs when you are already having problems with the registry? It's best, and I think Bob would agree, to solve one issue before creating ten more. At the rate this is going a factory image restore will be necessary. Good luck.
