after making sure that you do not have it incorrectly configured in System Preferences
I bought my MacPro about 4 months ago and I've realised now that from the start the right hand side of my track pad doesn't respond to clicks.

Mac Pro or MacBook Pro? Kind of a big difference there.
I suppose in either case, the advice to make a warranty claim sounds solid, it's just you have the mail in option for a MacBook Pro, but not a Mac Pro.
the external TrackPad which is available as an option.
Which is an option, but then again this is also the Mac Laptops forum. Ultimately it probably doesn't matter much, since the answer is the same regardless. But while they can just swap out the magic trackpad and you'll be back up and going within a day, a MBP trackpad would require them ordering a part. It's only a 5-10 minute install, if that, but it's still a day or two for the thing to get to the repair shop.
