Question

Why does my computer keep doing this?!?!

My computer will be sitting idle and all of a sudden things will start playing like commercials or previews to movies or something completely abnormal. I currently have Super Anti-spyware, Avira anti-virus and Malwarebytes as my protection to try and see if one of those would kill whatever this bug seems to be. I have no clue as to what this is; it doesn't even show up on my processes or services(that I can find.) I just want whatever this issue is to be done so when I am watching a video on my laptop I don't get interrupted. If anyone has a solution on this problem please fill me in. I am new to this site, but have used this site for previous downloads and have seen this is a very active site for higher end computer knowledge.

Mystery

Wow! And nothing shows up in Applications? Does anything show up on the task bar, such as IE/Mozilla may be running something. Scratching head thinking on this one. I have heard of this sort of thing in the past and it seems it was virus related but some of the other guys, Bob or Kees will likely have a handle on someting like this, meanwhile will do a little research. BTW what is your OS?

Possible areas

You need to review your "startup" setting and see if anything there is set to run. As it appears this is an timed event, thus some mins. statement to run at. Goto the run area and type-in: msconfig, hit return and check the status and/or edit findings. You can also review if anything maybe getting access pass the firewall, as you may have in the past allowed it to do so. If you can check your firewall setting or "exceptions" that allow this to happen. A key clue is the "idle" statement you made which suggests this becomes active during that time. But, then you state it also happens whern you play a movie, thus a "timed event". You can also check the Java console and see if anything was preset even during the meddling payback, see the link:

It doesn't hurt to use online scan from trusted AV makers. Check the security, virus and malware forum here and click on the "sticky" for links.
