Question

Why do your videos block after I whitelist cnet in ABP

Mar 14, 2016 9:02AM PDT

I have whitelisted cnet in ABP but I still get vidoes blocked with the message "It appears you are using an adblocker"

Yes, I am using an adblocker, but cnet is whitelisted, so ABP is 'greyed out' on CNET pages.

Your pages are broken.

(Also, please stop using FLASH. Who uses FLASH on new content in 2016????)

Thanks for your feedback.

I forwarded your feedback to our video team and they did look into it and were not able to reproduce it, but will continue to investigate it.

Can you tell me what device and OS you are using?

Also when you whitelisted CNET on ABP, did you restart your browser and try again? Sometimes you have to restart the browser in order for the whitelisting to take effect.

Let me know.

Thank you.

OS/Browzer

Both Windows 10 and Windows 7
Chrome Browser, latest release.

I even rebooted my PC after changing the settings, not just the Browser.

On the other topic, it really is time to move to HTML5, and away from FLASH.

Thanks for that info... I'll forward it on.

Along with the feedback of HTML5 vs. Flash, I'm sure it's easier said then done.

Cheers,
