We need followers who will actually engage with our content not just add to our follower count.

for more traffic......!! if more followers then we get more engagements due to this, increases the website clicks and brand promotion, for affiliate it is the best way to earning......!!
Since this is well discussed you get followers by having content they want. If you don't have what they want, they won't follow.
That said, there are companies that will add followers at so many per dollar but those are what they are and the fake followers will not click through so you lose your dollars there.
