Question

why do my deleted messages keep reappearing as new?

This is happening when I am using samsung galaxy tab 10. I tried deleting email account then starting over but same annoying problem persists.

But I can't tell what email app you are using. But in the case of someone else's issue like this we had to have a long chat about how email works. At first they were put off by diving into how POP and IMAP differ and how messages on the server don't always match what you see on the device.

Given that more and more folk don't want to know all this, have we reached the point where email as an app should be removed from devices?

I bought a samsung galaxcy tablet and I guess it configures the set up because I only entered my email address. Right before getting the tablet my old laptop became unusable so the tablet is all I have for now. I have to use it for email. Is there anywhere you can suggest where I might find possible solutions to read about? Thank you.

If the "leave mail on server" is checked why not open a web page to the email server (here it's gmail.com) and delete the offending items there?

Email apps are very configurable. I wonder if the days of exposing all this to the owners is over?

I don't offer a solution because I can't tell which email system you are using. But as email apps are plentiful and we can often use a web interface, why not go with what works?

I do go to the webpage and delete all the time. It is a pain that is why I was seeking help. Settings are all on imap.

imap can leave it on the server.

And again I can't tell what settings you are using. I see this is frustrating you so I suggest you use the web mail until your ISP can fix it.
