You can research it on google.com (spoofing). I will not write about it.

Why do I get emails that are addressed to someone else?
Granted, the addresses are similar but ***?!?!?!??!
I use yahoo.

Email spoofing may occur in different forms, but all have a similar result: a user receives email that appears to have originated from one source when it actually was sent from another source.
This is not what I was referring to.
I'm getting emails that are addressed to someone else and yet for some reason they are being re-routed to MY inbox.
Example:
The header reads:
To: scotty123
and my address is actually scotty187
Still a spoof. The address to and mail to don't have to match.
The SMTP protocol allows it.
