Question

Why did I recieve a random text, then have it disappear

Nov 7, 2018 12:19PM PST

I was texting back and forth with my son recently when in the middle of our conversation a text came thru to my phone that wasn't sent by my son.
Assuming the text was sent by him, I sent it back to him to clarify what he meant only to have him text me back saying that he did not send that text.
The text that was posted on my cell in the middle of the conversation that my son and I were having, was a statement from someone to someone else other than me or my son.
I asked my son in the next text, "what does this mean ?" and he wrote back saying, "I did not write that !".
I'm in the middle of something very painful with my spouse and a much younger man. The younger guy is a friend of my son's, a close friend. My son refuses to believe that his mom and friend are intimate. I know what's up though and I'm trying to not hurt my son.
Here's the question: could someone, in this case my son's friend that's running with my son's mom, have cloned my son's phone (or my phone) so he could monitor texts, and, while he was monitoring the convo that my son and I were having, could he have mistakenly texted me with this statement, then when I texted back to my son the contents of this odd text, could he have deleted the text ?
I hope what I'm asking is clearly asked. The text disappeared as quickly as it appeared right after I asked my son what the heck it meant and sent it to him to see. It was there, then it was gone.
Can someone please tell me does the phone company (Boost) make mistakes like this where they send texts to the wrong recipient then delete the texts ?
Please help me understand this.
Also, my battery life is horrible. I have to charge my battery on the cell a few times a day, even if I'm hardly using it the battery drains what seems like very quickly.
Any help with this is really appreciated.
Thank you..

have you gone to your carrier and asked these questions? Maybe they could investigate seeing it's their responsibility to keep your texts etc private as you are a paying customer. I would reach out to customer service and see if their are any apps that can do this linked to your son or your account.
