Question

Why are there Sound Issues with Newer Netflix Shows?

Sep 26, 2018 7:01AM PDT

Last week I was watching the new 'Iron Fist' on Netflix, and I was having sound issues. The sound would be fine one minute, but then something like a high action scene started, it sounded like half the sound was cut off. Whenever I watch older shows, there are no problems with the sound. I have a vizio soundbar hooked up to the television (Sony Bravia 4k HDR KD50x690e). If it is a settings problem, I am not certain what they should be on.

Nothing new there

Streaming content is rarely without hiccups. While you can always test out other audio settings (something I often recommend), it mostly hinges on internet traffic.

That said, try listening without the soundbar, and also using a wired (ethernet) connection.

Sadly not much new going on here.

I find I have to dig into the netflix player and try setting it to PCM or Stereo which may or may not help.

Soundbars, just in general are terrible at times since one time it's all fine and then problems.

Try it without the soundbar and if it plays fine, it's your bar.
