Question

Why are the emails returned?

May 16, 2012 6:34AM PDT

As of the last 2 days, I cannot receive emails from a person, who emails me regularly. They are returned to her. Some of the message she gets is "deferred: Name server: CDPTPA-SMTPIN 02. mail.rr.com: host name lookup failure." What can I or she do to correct this? Thank you.

http://postmaster.rr.com/reverse_dns explains it but I fear the newbie would not understand much here.

But RoadRunner has for years rejected mail from time to time.

-> But fast forward to now and today's users. They may not understand that email never was designed as a guaranteed delivery system. It may shock the newcomer!

The problem was resolved on its own. It must have been, as Bob said, that roadrunner rejects emails from time to time. Thank you for the input.
