to make crime pay, even if the crime is illegal immigration. What I don't understand is why someone who is married to a citizen is in there? Or is he wanted for a crime? Why are they not deported instead? There's something more to this that's not being told.

a ploy to get a green card. I agree that to privatize prisons is to introduce a factor into the judicial system which distorts it. If it is profitable to incarcerate people then companies will work to maximize the number of people incarcerated, and will lobby to close or take over Correction facilities which, I gather, they are doing.
