Question

Why am I losing gigs of space on my C Drive for no reason?

Apr 25, 2011 1:11PM PDT

Hi, I have been in the process of getting more space on my C Drive because its starting to get cluttered. I've noticed though that as I'm deleting the files and programs that I don't use I'm actually losing space. I've been losing about 2 gigs of space a day and am seriously worried that I may have a problem. My antivirus software isnt detecting anything suspicious at all. I was reading a lot of other posts that seemed similar to mine so... I also have a Vista Laptop and was wondering if I do a system restore, will I lose my music? Such as the songs from my iTunes? And, is a system restore really necessary? Confused Help would be fantastic, thanks a lot.

About system restore.

It's needed for most users. Most users may not be able to recover from changes they made. Some go deep into some menu and change this or that. Later they can't find it, System restore to the rescue.

If you are well seasoned and keep a backup of all you can't lose (make that 2 or 3 copies) then system restore is optional. Of course we see folk that never made the restore media!

...at the top of the forum and one of the topics is exactly what you're referring to. It includes one special hint if you happen to have a IBM or Lenovo computer.. Below is that link:

Where has my disk space gone?

Hope this helps.
