If so, there could be extra software installed that needs cleanup. Grif's advice usually does the trick of either identifying it and most of the time eradicating it. Grif also details where to get it.

Sorry but I don't have answers to what Download.com is doing or why.
Bob
Hi - My computer had been acting up (freezing up, running slow etc). so I ran software to "clean it up" and it just got worse so took it in to the shop - they "tuned it up" and I brought it home and I noticed my ZA firewall was missing so I went to Downloads. com to get another copy and decided to try Comodo firewall. When I tried to open it the computer froze up so I tried to restart it and it would not boot - called the shop they told me ZA had a virus and was so "old" and
Comodo was no good either ( ZA had been deleted) So-my question is: Why would someone say this sort of thing when CNet supports both of them or they wouldn't be listed at Downloads.com. I took the computer back to him to fix and am waiting patiently!! I'm sure there will be another charge...any advice???
