I just saw your message you posted as I was going ahead and purchasing the Lite-On LVC 9006 direct from Dell.
I'm REALLY EXCITED about this unit.
For the price it appears to me that it will not only be the easiest to use, but the quality of DVD recordings from my old VHS tapes is suppose to be very, very good.
I don't mind that it isn't doesn't have the greatest "chapter and verse"" features; although it has sufficient features for me ( a person would always like to get the sun and the moon for the cheapest price possible), to me the quality of being able to watch the VHS Videos I shot of my kids 20 years ago in the best quality possible on my new DVD's that I record is most important to/for me.
I will let you know in about three weeks or so just how well it has, and is, working for me.
PLEASE do the same and stay in touch letting me know about your Pioneer or Panisonic unit you mentioned you were going to go ahead and purchase.
Thanks,
