Who cares?

The breaking news alert at CNN has just announced that Whoopi Goldberg is introduced as new co-host of ABC's "The View." Why is the media turning into nothing more than gossip distributors?

What do you mean, "turning into"?

Been that way for quite soime3 time.

I only hope this keeps Whoopi busy, so I don't have to see her on other shows I actually watch.

Especially after 9/11, the "Breaking News" banners should be reserved for actual breaking news. I remember this happening around a year ago, I saw that big red "BREAKING NEWS" banner, my heart skipped a beat wondering for a second what may have just happened, and it turned out the "BREAKING NEWS" was that Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown were (finally) divorcing. I sent an angry e-mail to CNN about it.

"Who cares" is the nice way of putting it. "WGAF" would be more appropriate.
