White screen on monitor

Jun 11, 2006 7:50AM PDT

I have a problem with my monitor as follows:

When I power off my computer and turn
off my monitor or there is a power
outage and I turn my system back on, my
monitor has a white screen. We must keep
turning it off and on and eventually it
comes back. I not sure if is a monitor
probelm or PC. I am running Windows XP
SP 2 and am using a MAG Innovision 17"
TFT LCD flat monitor. I have an ASUS X
motherboard.

Thanks for any help

or it happens every time, put the monitor on another PC and see what happens.

But it does sound like the monitor to me.

Hi.It could be as simple as a dirty video connector. Pull the monitor connector and reinsert several times to dislodge any gunk. Of course do this with the monitor switched off. Try this before you look for complicated solutions. Regards Stewart
