Get estimates for repair. You described a lot but stopped short of replacing missing parts and what parts you suspect.
You've told me in a round about way you want it repaired.
Hey guys, my hp pavillion has suffered some injuries over the years due to missing screws from the hinges(my own ******** fault). The defect began by sometimes when I made the angle of the screen wit the bottom of the laptop a bit over 90° it would give me a white screen. This problem would gradually get worse until it does this at every angle and flickers.
What I have done:
- Made sure the signal connector from the screen to the motherboard is properly connected.
- Check if the there seems to be something wrong with the connection between the LCD and the cable to the motherboard(I didn't take it of and put it back in because it looked fine and it was taped up).
- Measured some resistances in the screen from the black and white power wires( found that the black one makes contact with the hinge but when I lifted the cable so it doesn't touch the hinge it still gave contact so I thought this was intended).
I would also like to add that I accidentally put quite a bit of force on the chip between the motherboard and the black and white power supply cables because I forgot to take it off before trying to take the motherboard out. The resistance between the 2 outputs is vert very low, is this how it is supposed to be.
Any thoughts on how I should proceed?
