Question

which video editing software

Apr 9, 2015 12:09AM PDT

Hey all, I need to know what video editing software would be best for the following kind of task: I have multiple shots of the same scene and would like to switch back and forth between the different views without having to splice each shot a hundred times. I have tried Windows Movie Maker, Microsoft Expression Encoder, and VSDC, but none of them allow me to flip back and forth easily between different shots. Can anyone suggest a software program?

Answer
So far none.

If I have 100 scene changes I get to put in 100 splices.

Now some may explode on this but this looks like a job for command line or scripted video editing.

If you needed to juggle 100 or more scenes or images it might be easier with a script since you can script the first two splices and duplicate that in the script text file.

Just a thought...

Personally have not try it. My thinking is to create each shot segment as "chapter" then use the "step" to flip it back and forth.
