I bought used notebooks (Toshiba and Fujitsu) from another persons before and never had a problem because they used Win 98.
But with Win XP, I am not sure how it goes. This technician I know said that there's some problems like the Win XP won't run well because you can't activate it if it is alrady done so by another person. The same thing with warranty, this is not transferable and they have to contact the person that bought it.
Did anybody bought a used laptop with Win XP from another person? Do you have any problem?
Hi All,
I have been using a desktop celeron 1ghz for sometime with some modifications over time like adding a bigger hdd and more ram, etc. I will soon be going back to school and am looking at buying a notebook (used- because I cant afford a new one at the moment) which brings me to my question. What would be the best buy in used notebooks at the moment?
I have been researching notebooks on the net and have narrowed down my choice (almost exclusively) to the HP Pavilion range- I think they look great and a used one should offer great value for money.
Have seen some great deals such as a ZT3000 notebook- 1.5 Pentium M, 512ram, 64mb vram, 40gb hdd and dvd writer for about $1100 USD (comes with remaining warranty of about 2 1/2 yrs).
Other systems that caught my eye are the DV4000 and DV1000.
Anyway, the choices are so great that I thought would ask the help of the trusted cnet community!
Thanks for your help.
