Which ultraportable laptop for college?

Jun 11, 2009 2:51PM PDT

I am looking to spend under $1000 and have narrowed it down to..
HP Pavilion dv3510nr
Acer Aspire 3935
Asus x83Vm-x2/x1

Open to any suggestions because I am really struggling with which laptop would be best, looking to keep it for at least 3 years.

I have the nix the Asus as they have too much to catch up on service.

HP's service is still just 7 to 10 days here (in the US.) And Acer is not far from that.

As this is for college are you sure your school doesn't have the 4 year laptop deal?

unfortunately there isn't.
I'm going to college in Canada and there aren't too many student deals for computers other than macs and those are still out of my price range.
