Which type TV can you dim the most?

Nov 1, 2010 11:23PM PDT

I watch TV in a dark bedroom after my wife is sleeping. I need to keep the light level from the TV to a minimum. I have a (now broken) Sharp Aquos lcd now that goes fairly dim but the color rendition is poor at very low levels and I cannot connect with an HDMI cable since it increases the gain and makes the dimmest picture too bright. What kind (plasma, brand, etc) of TV would be best for very dim light output?
