Which TV

I know this is a vague topic, but I am choosing between two TVs and I need some help. I don't know whether to get a 42LC7D from LG or the Vizio VP422. The LG has a lower contrast ratio, but is an LCD, also I feel its from a superior brand. However it was a floor model, thus used, which explains why I got it for cheap. The prices are negligible, I just need some informed advice...please HELP!!!!

Plasma

In reply to: Which TV

Just asking, have you ever looked at the panasonic plasma models? I know that you are looking for an LCD, but panasonic makes good plasmas. I have had my 42 inch panny for almost 3 years. I have not had a problem. I do not have the model with the glare screen, but mine works well durng the day, and especially at night. As soon as my wife lets me, I will get a 50 inch panasonic plasma. Hope this helps.

Plasma

Yeah, I think you should look toward a plasma (in particular Panasonic or Pioneer), as LCD's are reserved mainly for picture slideshows and PC monitoring. Everything else (like sports, video games, movies, SDTV) all suit a plasma better. Plus, LCD's do glare quite a bit, resulting in a very low contrast and a dull image, especially in light areas. Plasmas will not lose contrast in different lighting situations or off to the side, unlike LCD's.

Overall, plasma would be a better choice as a TV. If you still want an LCD, it should be because you have a computer that you will mainly be using on this set.
