Which to Buy PanPVGS150, or Sony DCRHC42, or Canon ZR Series

Dec 15, 2005 12:31PM PST

Trying to decide which camcorder to buy for home use. Outdoor kids sports, indoor basketball, indoor B-day party & holiday stuff. I am leaning towards the GS150, due to the color reproduction capability of the 3CCD and low light ability. I think I have crossed off the ZR series due to posted low light comments and low ratings. Not too crazy about the Sony touch screen, thinking it may shorten the life of the monitor.

Some questions:
Will I regret having only 10X optical zoom, sound low compare to other cams?
Which cam does better in low light, Pan GS150 or Sony HC42?
For this price range, what other camcorders should I consider?
Is the 3CCD over rated?
