Which speakers to buy?

I have an Archos Gmini with all my music on it.We have just decorated the lounge and got rid of the Hi-Fi. I am therefore looking for something to plug my mp3 into that will give me a decent sound.I don't want anything big and not expensive.I like my music but I'm not a connosseur so don't need anything fancy.
Any thoughts out there?

the easy way is just to get some PC speakers
then all you need to do is plug in the power, and the 3.5mm audio jack goes where the headphones did
now you just go to find something that fits your needs and price
also if the area is really big than you might need something bigger than average PC speakers

Would PC speakers produce enough volume?
Don't you need an amp?
